Job summary

6 Degrees Group, a nationally recognized multifamily real estate firm, is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant in Atlanta, GA. This role focuses on corporate accounting and reporting for multiple entities, including an aviation department, supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closes with cross‑functional collaboration.

You will own journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules, with opportunities to automate workflows and mentor junior accountants in a fully in‑office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with public accounting or real estate background.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial statement prep.

Responsibilities

• Lead the close for assigned corporate entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages, and investigate major variances.
• Account for capital projects, fixed assets, leases, and intercompany activity under U.S. GAAP.

6 Degrees Group is recruiting a Senior Corporate Accountant in Atlanta, GA. Our client is a nationally recognized multifamily real estate firm that owns, develops, and manages communities across the country. This role handles the accounting and reporting for corporate operations, including an aviation department and several other corporate entities. You’ll lead big parts of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and work closely with asset management, development, treasury, tax, and FP&A. It’s a fully in-office seat with real room to shape processes, take on systems projects, and help mentor newer accountants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the close for assigned corporate entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages, and dig into any major variances
• Account for capital projects, fixed assets, leases, and intercompany activity under U.S. GAAP
• Prepare audit schedules, strengthen internal controls, and find ways to automate and improve workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with some public accounting or real estate background
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial statement prep
• Advanced Excel skills, with ERP experience and Power Query or Power BI a plus
