Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a QA engineer to design and maintain comprehensive QA test suites for the Verisk Casualty Catastrophe Model in a cloud-focused environment. You will collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and customer success analysts to understand workflows, use cases, and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM fields (data science, engineering, science, mathematics, finance, economics).
• 5-7 years of related work experience.
• Experience developing or testing cloud-native UI and API products (REST/gRPC), web applications, and cloud-testing environments.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and demonstrated experience building test strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain comprehensive QA test suites for the Verisk Casualty Catastrophe Model.
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and customer success analysts to understand workflows, use cases, and requirements.
• Create and maintain test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases for functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Partner with developers to design and implement automated test scripts and maintain automation frameworks.
• Execute manual and automated testing, focusing on REST API testing, system-level testing, and complex data-driven workflows.
• Validate algorithms and ensure products meet exacting accuracy requirements.
• Document analytical work in Python's Jupyter Notebook or R Markdown.
• Participate in cross-functional Agile Scrum teams and use automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Enhance existing QA best practices.
• Engage stakeholders to clarify requirements, assumptions, and quality expectations.
