Job summary

Oracle Corporation in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Core Infrastructure (C++). You will own design and development for core I/O path components in the Block Storage Service, building scalable distributed systems in a collaborative, agile environment.

You should bring 5+ years of distributed systems experience, strong C++ and Python scripting skills, and a deep understanding of storage, networking, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience delivering large scale, highly available distributed systems and backend services.
• Extensive experience developing clean code in C++ and scripting languages such as Python, etc.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi‑threading, I/O paths, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of block storage systems and distributed persistence technologies.
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience building multi‑tenant, virtualized storage infrastructure, data management

Responsibilities

• Own the software design and development for core components and features on the I/O path of the Block Storage Service.
• Dive deep into any part of the stack and low‑level systems and design broad distributed system interactions.
• Collaborate in an agile environment to deliver scalable storage infrastructure features.
