Job summary

Salesforce is seeking Core Database Internal Engineers to design and develop the next generation of an RDBMS. You will join a team of world-class engineers to build scalable database products, tackling logging, replication, high availability, and serviceability in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.

You’ll own architecture end-to-end, from conception to deployment, with a focus on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Computer Science required.
• 4+ years in system or database internals programming.
• 4+ years in technical leadership in architecture and design of enterprise server platforms.
• Deep expertise with distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Experience with highly concurrent multi-threaded/multi-process data structures and design.
• Strong coding skills in Java or C, plus a track record of end-to-end ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to design and develop core database system functionalities.
• Develop new architecture and design to solve complex scalability problems.
• Improve robustness and performance with innovative ideas.
• Implement functional and system tests for database areas.
• Debug, perform root cause analysis, and diagnose defects.
