Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Core Database Internal Engineer to help architect, develop and test the next generation of an RDBMS. You will work with a world-class team on highly concurrent, scalable systems at petabyte scale, owning architecture from design through deployment.

Ideal candidates have strong Java or C, deep expertise in distributed systems, and a track record of end-to-end ownership in mission-critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years in system or database internals programming for SMTS/6+ YOE LMTS.
• 4+ years in architecture and design of enterprise server platforms.
• Experience with distributed systems and consensus algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to design and develop core database system functionalities.
• Develop architectures to solve complex scalability problems.
• Improve robustness and performance through innovative ideas.
• Create comprehensive functional and system tests for the area.
• Debug, perform root cause analysis and diagnose defects.
• Participate actively in release and deployment processes.
