Qualifications

• High School or Culinary Tech background is required.
• Able to read, understand, and follow recipes, production sheets, diet orders, tray tickets and employee responsibilities.
• Familiar with computer software used for resident information and preferences.
• Must be ServSafe certified or able to earn within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• The Cook works under the supervision of the Dietary Manager.
• Prepare and portion hot and cold items according to menus and production sheets.
• Serve resident meals at correct service times.
• Assist with staff coverage when others are unavailable.
• Maintain proper food and equipment temperatures and sanitation standards.
• Label, wrap and date unused food items.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and support facility policies and procedures.
• Handle inventory and communicate shortages or orders to the Dietary Manager.
