Job summary

Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a Senior Cook to oversee cafeteria staff and meal preparation in support of supervision, serving three meals daily year-round.

You will ensure proper setup of foods on serving lines, maintain food safety standards, assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining areas, and mentor work-based learning and culinary arts students. Schedule: Full-time, 5:30 am–2:00 pm Mon–Thu and 8:00 am–4:30 pm on Sundays, holidays and staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, two years related experience, and ServSafe certification or become certified within 90 days

Our cafeteria staff assure that our students eat better so that they can learn better. We prepare and serve three meals per day year-round. At the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center, operated by Education and Training Resources (ETR), we have creative and caring staff who make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth each and every day.

MAIN DUTIES:

• Oversee cafeteria staff and meal preparation in support of supervisor
• Ensure proper setup of foods on serving lines and serve foods
• Adhere to guidelines for food safety and proper food handling
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining areas
• Direct and mentor work-based learning and culinary arts students

WORK SCHEDULE:

Full-time, working from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm on Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on Sundays, Holidays and Staff Training Days

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED, two years related experience, and ServSafe certification or become certified within 90 days

PAY AND BENEFITS:

$25.40 per hour plus full benefits, including 12 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time, 401(k) with match, and medical, dental and vision insurance
