Job summary

Johns Manville in Fernley, NV is seeking a Controls Technician to maintain and improve production equipment for roofing materials. You will troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, calibrate devices, and support PLC and HMI programs to ensure safe, reliable operations on rotating shifts.

Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of industrial electrical/instrumentation experience, with strong RCCA skills, SAP knowledge, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree; experience preferred.
• 5+ years in electrical/instrumentation/controls in industrial settings.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong RCCA and safety compliance understanding.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical measurements and calibrations on control equipment.
• Troubleshoot PID loops, process controls, and automation systems.
• Maintain PLC and HMI programs; support equipment commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E and safety policies.
