Job summary

Mars Petcare – Aurora, Nebraska, is seeking a Senior Controls Tech to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant electrical and control systems. The role covers program changes, troubleshooting, and technical leadership on controls projects.

Qualifications

2-year technical degree or equivalent experience in electrical/controls/automation.
3–5 years factory controls & IT experience, including production system troubleshooting.
Possess or can obtain an Operational Electrical Qualification Certificate and work independently on live electrical panels.

Responsibilities

Identify and implement changes to improve plant performance using PLC, HMI, and servo logic.
Troubleshoot machine breakdowns with knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo systems and electrical tests.
Train technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning electrical control devices and PLC/HMI hardware.
Act as a technical resource to operations for controls-related issues and coordinate priorities with maintenance.
Deliver KPIs related to Factory Controls and IT infrastructure, including availability and functionality metrics.
Prepare user and systems documentation, SOPs, and training materials for plant automation.
Oversee factory controls and IT infrastructure in assigned area and projects.
