Job summary

Mars, Incorporated in the United States seeks a Sr. Project Engineer - Controls, Automation, and Digital (Finance) to join the North America CAED team.

You will lead and execute capital projects from ideation to closure, focusing on electrical, controls, Factory IT, automation, and Digital Plant Technology. Based at one of the listed sites (Cary, NC; Kansas City, KS; Jackson, TN; Cincinnati, OH), you may travel up to 50% to support project needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or relevant Engineering degree.
• 5-10+ years' experience in a comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry.
• Basic understanding of engineering principals - knowledge of engineering disciplines: Process, Packaging, Electrical, Controls, Automation, Construction and/or Computer Services.
• In-depth understanding of designated functional engineering area of expertise (for specific job requirement i.e. controls, process, packaging)
• Up to 50% travel requirement depending on project demands.

Responsibilities

• Develop control systems for automating manufacturing processes and packaging systems.
• Deliver projects to the business that provide a competitive advantage.
• Control Systems design, including developing control concepts & functional and equipment specifications
• Direct modifications, installation, and integration of systems: electrical and power distribution, control systems, Factory IT, physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology systems.
• Ensure delivery of scope, time, budget, and cash flow objectives.
• Maintain project adherence to scope and critical success factors.
• Communicate with the project steering team to achieve objectives.
• Apply technologies to gain competitive advantage.
• Understand and improve business metrics (ROTA, FATR, EP).
• Design systems and select hardware; direct third-party engineering and system integrator firms.
