You will work with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure precise, safe actuator control on robotic platforms used in heavy industry. The role emphasizes hands‑on bench work, embedded firmware in C/C++, and collaboration across teams to meet demanding performance targets.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years designing and implementing low‑level motor or actuator control systems.
• Strong fundamentals in PID, cascaded control, feedforward, and state‑space analysis.
• Experience with time synchronized torque control of motors (BLDC/PMSM, FOC, current/torque control).
• Experience with encoders, strain gauges, or other sensors.
• Embedded firmware in C/C++ on microcontrollers/DSPs with real‑time constraints.
• Experience with time‑critical, low‑latency filtering.
• Modeling/dynamic systems in MATLAB/Simulink or Python for controller validation.
• Lab work with scopes, probes, and data logging to characterize hardware.

Aufgaben

• Design, implement, and tune low‑level control loops (current, torque, velocity, position).
• Write and optimize embedded firmware that runs these control loops in real time.
• Model actuator and drivetrain dynamics to inform controller design and tuning.
• Apply classical control methods and evaluate advanced approaches as needed.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on sensing, gates, and encoder feedback.
• Bring up new actuator hardware on the bench and characterize its behavior.
• Debug control performance issues using scopes and data logging.
• Coordinate with motion planning and software teams to align with higher‑level tasks.
• Document control architectures and tuning procedures for reuse.
