Job summary

NOMAD Transportable Power Systems in Waterbury, Vermont seeks a Senior Controls Software Engineer to lead controls engineering, initially hands-on and later building the team, with 10–20% travel.

You will design and support mobile battery energy storage products, develop control software in C#.NET for Linux, troubleshoot PLCs, and ensure cybersecurity and safety requirements. This role requires strong communication, PLC and HMI expertise, data analysis, and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing control software and PLC-based control systems is required.
• Strong communication and documentation skills essential.
• Familiarity with Modbus/CAN networks and HMI/SCADA concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop control system software in C#.NET for Linux systems.
• Support and troubleshoot PLC control systems (Ladder, FB, ST).
• Migrate control algorithms from PLC languages to C#.NET.
• Ensure cyber security, safety, and quality compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines to deliver mobile battery energy storage products.
