Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Commercial Controls Technician to install, troubleshoot, and service building automation systems on customer sites across North America. You will diagnose complex control malfunctions, propose retrofits, and support sales with technical input while mentoring junior staff.

You will install software, communicate with customers, and lead safety practices on site. A technical degree or equivalent experience is required, with strong writing and client-facing

Qualifications

• Minimum of six years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in HVAC.
• Vocational or associate degree in a technical field, or two years’ servicing experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions across various software languages.
• Consult with customers; provide field proposals for retrofits/upgrades and assist sales with technical recommendations.
• Manage assigned work to ensure timely, quality service; coordinate with managers and subcontractors as needed.
• Provide field sketches for engineering corrections and drawings; assist with layouts/bid proposals.
• Install and modify software and graphics; ensure customer satisfaction and communicate progress.
• Lead safety on site and train customers on control systems; deliver manuals and documentation.
