Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join its Advanced Solutions Group. The role can be based at either our Tullahoma, TN or Farmington Hills, MI office.

Our team designs, builds, and operates complex facilities across defense, energy, and civilian sectors. You’ll lead SCADA projects, develop PLC/HMI software, and mentor engineers while coordinating with clients and field teams to ensure successful commissioning.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics or related engineering field from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in control or data acquisition system design, implementation, and commissioning.
• Experience with PLC and HMI software in major environments and knowledge of other environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for SCADA systems.
• Develop control system software designs.
• Develop PLC programming and HMI software.
• Interface with facility equipment using MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, etc.
• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver control and data systems.
• Estimate design, material, installation, and commissioning efforts.
• Plan labor resources and project milestones.
• Lead SCADA projects through all phases: design, fabrication, implementation, testing, commissioning.
