Job summary

KraussMaffei Group in Florence, KY seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design and support PLC software for extrusion and automation projects. You will advise on robotic installations and lead troubleshooting of electrical and control systems across multiple platforms.

The role requires 45% travel, strong knowledge of PLC programming, and experience with AutoCAD and industrial controllers. This position is based in our Florence facility and involves cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and 5–8 years related experience.
Solid knowledge of electrical codes and related regulations.
Design competence of electrical circuits using AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and document PLC software logic for extrusion, RPM, and automation projects.
Advise and participate in robotic and automation installations.
Install and troubleshoot robot cells (Kuka, Fanuc, Yaskawa).
Lead final troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
Troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley) as needed.
Read electrical schematics to repair and troubleshoot systems.
Maintain documentation and drive continuous improvement projects.
