Job summary

Dematic Corp. is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for its Lifecycle Services and Solutions – Modernizations & Upgrades organization. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience and can perform complex engineering work for material handling systems.

This role ensures project standards across hardware, software, electrical, and system solutions; translating customer requirements into actionable tasks and guiding project teams through design reviews and support activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Controls engineering.
• 8+ years of controls engineering experience with project delivery.
• Experience with EtherNet/IP, Modbus, CIP Safety, PROFINET, and PROFIsafe.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens TIA Portal PLC platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve controls standards and documentation.
• Evaluate and recommend standard control hardware solutions.
• Participate in technical reviews for controls hardware and software.
• Support project engineering teams with controls design needs.
• Review controls designs and support validation activities.
• Assist project teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Provide project technical support, including problem solving and integration support.
• Guide junior team members on project engineering teams.
• Review system-level drawings for compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines and project management.
• Promote safety and compliance through clear communication.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency and reduce cost.
• Support planning and delivery of engineering work within project timelines.
• Travel up to 40% for project sites and meetings.
