Job summary

Dematic is seeking a mid-career Controls Engineer to join our Customer Service Modernizations & Upgrades group. The role involves translating contractual requirements into engineering deliverables, ensuring quality and on-time delivery across multiple sites, and traveling up to 40% to customer locations in the USA.

The ideal candidate has a BS/BA in electrical engineering, 5+ years of related experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Rockwell PLCs.

Qualifications

BS/BA in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
5+ years of successful experience in related field.
Proficient in AutoCAD (a plus).
Knowledge of Rockwell PLCs, hardware and software.

Responsibilities

Translate project contractual technical requirements into deliverables and tasks for engineering teams (design/layout, emulation, order entry, drawings, commissioning).
Ensure all deliverables and solutions meet quality standards, processes, and established engineering practices.
Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting engineering tasks to prevent project delays.
Monitor and manage project team performance to ensure KPIs are achieved.
Deliver assigned work packages on time and within budget, as defined by the Project Manager.
Act as the main point of contact for project management, Mechanical Engineering, installation, procurement, and manufacturing regarding engineering deliverables.
Collaborate with ME and other CE Leads to ensure third-party specifications and resale component requirements are accurate and complete.
Track engineering progress against schedule; report updates with ME/CE Leads.
Prepare project status reports, financial forecasts, and schedule updates.
Support project risk management by documenting, escalating, and mitigating risks.
Lead technical reviews and conduct post-mortems with project managers to drive continuous improvement.
Complete the design of schematics and control panels.
Complete the commissioning of complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
Provide recommendations for productivity improvement, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
