Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Sr. Controls Engineer for our Ames, IA facility to lead control system projects. The role focuses on developing, installing, and commissioning PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions to optimize manufacturing processes. You will design architectures, support multiple locations, and mentor junior engineers.

Relocation is provided. The ideal candidate has Allen-Bradley PLCs, AVEVA/ArchestrA experience, and strong .NET/SQL/Ethernet/IP skills. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
• Proficient in PLC programming, HMI, SCADA and electrical controls.
• Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI development and AVEVA/ArchestrA.
• Experience with .NET programming, SQL Databases and Ethernet/IP communication.
• Open to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, install, and commission control systems to optimize manufacturing processes and increase productivity.
• Programming and integrating PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for automated equipment.
• Provide Controls and Automation Systems technical support to other company locations.
• Design and selection of plant control system architecture (control panels, hardware, communication protocols, etc.).
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
