Job summary

American Battery Solutions in Springboro, OH is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to manage all controls aspects of existing and new machinery to meet business goals. The role leads development, troubleshooting, and implementation of advanced control systems across the plant.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams on new equipment, CI projects, and validation of processes, while ensuring regulatory and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or controls engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of control engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Expert working knowledge of PLC, HMI’s, relays, contactors, servos, steppers, low and high voltage circuits, torque drivers, bar code systems, database storage, vision systems, etc.
• Ability to program Allen Bradley, Ignition, Keyence sensors/cameras, SQL, Fanuc robots, AutoCAD Electric.
• Experience with quality management systems and bar code systems.
• Working knowledge of machine electrical cabinet layout and machine controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead application of machine code across the plant.
• Troubleshoot controls issues on machinery and equipment.
• Develop and implement new controls systems for new equipment and CI projects.
• Support new product introductions and revisions affecting controls.
• Track and maintain PLC/Controls codes.
• Upgrade and improve PLC controls and operations.
• Lead MES and SQL Server database implementation and maintenance.
• Support process and machinery capability studies and equipment installations.
• Participate in PFMEA and work instruction reviews as needed.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards and safety policies.
