Job summary

Form Energy in the United States seeks a senior controls engineer to join the Manufacturing Control and Execution Systems team. You will design, develop, and deploy industrial control systems for the Iron-Air battery at our high‑volume facility in West Virginia.

Reporting to the Senior Controls Engineering Manager, you’ll lead projects, coordinate with Automation, Robotics, Vision, SCADA, and MES teams, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 6+ years designing and troubleshooting industrial control systems in high-volume manufacturing.
• Advanced PLC proficiency in Siemens TIA-Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000.
• Experience with SCADA/HMI: Ignition Perspective, WinCC, FTView.
• Knowledge of functional safety programming (ProfiSafe, CIP Safety).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of industrial control systems.
• Coordinate with Automation, Robotics, Vision, and SCADA to meet requirements.
• Provide mentorship to junior controls engineers.
• Troubleshoot production-related electrical and control issues.
• Perform FATs at vendor sites and SATs at Form Factory 1.
• Develop electrical schematics and instrumentation selection.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to improve equipment.
