Job summary

TechStar Group is seeking a Controls Engineer responsible for electrical design on mechanical/hydraulic power stamping presses and related automation upgrades. You will handle HMI, PLC, Safety PLC design, hardwire and panel layouts, risk assessments, field device layouts, installation supervision, and full line commissioning.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, coding, and on-site coordination with engineers, electricians, and millwrights during installation and upgrades.

Qualifications

Electrical design for stamping presses and automation upgrades.
Design and verification of HMI, PLC, and Safety PLC systems.
Hardwire layouts and panel layouts for control systems.
Perform risk assessments and field device layout planning.

Responsibilities

Create and modify HMI programs on Proface hardware using GP-pro software.
Create and modify PLC programs on Allen-Bradley, Siemens hardware.
Develop Safety PLC programs for safety-critical applications.
Create and review hardware and panel layouts in AutoCAD Electrical and IAB.
Lead installation supervision and commissioning activities.
Provide direction to engineers, electricians and millwrights during site upgrades.
