Job summary

Applied Industrial Controls (AIC) is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to design UL508A panels, program PLCs and HMIs, and deliver turnkey automation solutions from concept to commissioning in Buford, GA.

You’ll work with Siemens, ABB, Eaton, and Mitsubishi platforms, using EPLAN Electric P8 to produce schematics, BOMs, and detailed As-Built drawings, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial controls engineering design, programming, and project delivery.
• Proficient in PLC programming (ladder logic), HMI development, and VFD commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of UL508A/CSA 22.2 standards, NEC codes, NEMA ratings.
• Experienced with Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, Modbus 485.
• Proficient with EPLAN Electric P8 for schematics and panel layouts.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial control panels to UL508A and CSA 22.2 standards.
• Create 2D/3D schematics and BOMs with EPLAN Electric P8.
• Select components to meet project specs and maintain drawings.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs; commission and validate systems.
• Work with customers and vendors to manage project flow and costs.
