Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and oversee control-panel manufacturing and to develop electrical schematics for UL/CE listed panels. You will test PLC and OIT programs, create ERP parts records, troubleshoot circuits, and develop PLC/HMI software using Rockwell tools.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years in industrial controls, and are comfortable traveling to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial controls and systems integration with a focus on software design and programming.
• Electrical design software experience (SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent).
• Experience with Rockwell platforms and PLC programming.
• Networking experience such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet or DeviceNet.
• Occasional client site travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist and oversee the manufacturing of control panels.
• Design and create electrical schematics for UL and CE listed industrial control panels using SolidWorks Electrical.
• Test PLC and OIT programs.
• Create new electrical parts and numbers/descriptions in ERP system.
• Troubleshoot machinery operations and control circuits.
• Create PLC and HMI programs using Rockwell software - Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View, RSView, RSLogix 500.
• Modify program/system logic involving multiple subsystems.
• Electrical project management work directly with project PM or with customers.
