Job summary

Applied Industrial Controls (AIC), an MCE company, in Buford, GA, is seeking a Controls Engineer to design UL508A panels, program PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, and deliver turnkey automation solutions for OEM, municipal, and industrial customers.

You will use EPLAN Electric P8 to create 2D/3D schematics, BOMs, and layouts while working with Siemens, ABB, Eaton, and Mitsubishi platforms. You will coordinate with customers, manage project scope, and ensure on-time commissioning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial controls engineering design, programming, and project delivery.
• Proficient in PLC programming (ladder logic), HMI development, and VFD commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of UL508A/CSA 22.2 standards, NEC codes, NEMA ratings, and component specifications.
• Experienced with industrial communication protocols: Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, Modbus 485.
• Proficient with EPLAN Electric P8 for electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Strong communicator with customers, engineers, and panel assembly personnel.
• Execution-focused with ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial control panels to UL508A and CSA 22.2 standards with NEC compliance.
• Create 2D/3D schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs using EPLAN Electric P8.
• Select components to meet project specs (sensors, VFDs, motor starters, HMIs).
• Develop and maintain As-Built drawings and project documentation.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs to meet customer sequences and performance goals.
• Commission VFDs and configure Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, Modbus 485.
• Manage project bids, supplier issues, and changes with customers and vendors.
