PTS Advance Hanover, MD is seeking a senior Controls Engineer III to deliver advanced hands-on controls engineering for custom electrical systems. This role requires independent ownership of controls activities across the project lifecycle, including programming, system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting, with significant onsite work and travel.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on controls engineering or related programming experience.
Expertise in PLC and HMI programming for custom-engineered systems.
Strong ability to translate customer requirements into control solutions.
Experience with FAT, startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Lead development and implementation of PLC, HMI, and industrial controls solutions.
Develop complex PLC programs from scratch for custom applications.
Own controls activities across the project lifecycle from requirements to commissioning.
Integrate control systems with customer infrastructure and third-party equipment.
Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks and protocols.
Provide hands-on programming and technical guidance during field support.
