Job summary

ProMach seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for automated machinery. You will work with cross-functional teams to define strategies and ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs and HMIs, strong problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities to mentor junior engineers. Expect travel up to 25% across the US and Canada as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Controls Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI development.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
• Hands-on hardware/software integration and troubleshooting of control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for automated machinery and processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and define control strategies.
• Program PLCs and HMIs using ladder logic, structured text, and other standard languages.
• Test, commission, and ensure reliability, safety of control systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated on new control technologies and integrate them as applicable.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors for components and integration.
