Connexion Systems & Engineering Inc. in Southfield, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and optimize complex automation systems.

The role focuses on electrical control systems, PLC programming, and commissioning for manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a 4-year engineering degree, at least 5 years of hands-on experience, and be able to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on controls engineering experience in industrial automation.
• Proficiency with PLC programming and troubleshooting on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Experience designing electrical control systems and schematics with AutoCAD or EPLAN.

Responsabilités

• Design electrical control systems and schematics for custom automation equipment using AutoCAD.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Develop and maintain controls documentation, BOMs, and project records.
• Manage controls engineering activities to support schedules and budgets.
• Review customer requirements and drawings to ensure successful project execution.
• Develop functional specifications and support system testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities.
• Collaborate with other departments and provide technical support for project quoting.
• Assist with equipment installation, startup, and field service.
• Identify and implement control system improvements and new technologies.
