Job summary

United Therapeutics Corporation in Durham, NC is seeking a Principal Controls Engineer to lead the OT automation team and deliver complex distributed control systems in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

You will design, implement, and support packaging automation, environmental monitoring, and process control, including Schneider EcoStruxure, AVEVA Archestra, and DeltaV, while ensuring GAMP/cGxP compliance and successful validation.

Qualifications

• Experience in PLC programming and connectivity in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Schneider EcoStruxure, AVEVA ArchestrA, DeltaV and Elpro Environmental Monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead OT Automation projects and provide expert support for automation systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and field devices under change control.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and validation teams to ensure compliant system implementation.
