Job summary

E Tech Group in Indiana is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design, development, testing, and startup of automation solutions for metals and other industries. You will work with project managers and engineers on controls, instrumentation, networking, and software development to deliver high-value solutions.

The role requires extensive experience with PLCs, drives, and SCADA, and involves local travel to client sites while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years with AC/DC motors and drives, PLCs, HMIs
• Industrial automation experience
• Extensive PLC, VSD, and SCADA experience
• Strong software and data communication troubleshooting
• Lead field startup testing and site acceptance testing
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, coaters, furnaces, cooling systems
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Collaborative and team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation and control systems for metals industry applications
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to ensure project success
• Manage project budget and schedule requirements
• Develop and maintain standards and best practices
• Develop system and communication architecture for industrial projects
• Specify and configure hardware like AC/DC drives and control panels
• Perform functional testing of electrical and control systems
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers
• Create functional requirements docs and test procedures
• Support sales with technical solutions
• Represent company values and commitment to client success
