Job summary

IPS is recruiting for a Senior Controls Engineer to lead controls architecture, automation, and software development for customized wastewater treatment systems. You will drive concept to commissioning, collaborating with software, project, mechanical, process, and manufacturing teams to deliver safe, reliable automated systems.

Responsibilities include designing control architectures, developing narratives and operation sequences, and coordinating with software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10 years of experience designing and programming industrial automation and control systems, preferably with process equipment or water/wastewater.
• Experience developing complete controls architectures for complex industrial equipment or systems.
• Experience with major industrial automation platforms like Siemens and Allen-Bradley; B&R is a plus.
• Experience developing control narratives, sequences of operation, interlocks, alarms, and operator interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of the controls architecture for customized wastewater treatment systems, including PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, control panels, safety systems, and industrial communications.
• Develop control philosophies, functional descriptions, sequence of operations, control narratives, and system architecture documentation for customer projects.
• Provide requirements to internal software developers for unified controller and HMI codebases.
• Support SCADA and customer control-system interfaces, including signals and communications.
• Review electrical/control panel designs and supplier documentation for compliance with controls requirements.
• Develop electrical schematics, I/O documentation, network architecture, instrument lists, and controls bills of materials.
• Lead controls testing during FAT and support troubleshooting during SAT.
• Travel periodically to customer sites, including international locations.
