Job summary

AAON, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer IV to lead design, development, and implementation of electrical and HVAC control systems. You will drive standards, governance, and continuous improvement while guiding engineers across disciplines.

You will mentor teams, review complex control architectures, and ensure safety and code compliance. This role emphasizes innovation, technical direction, and cross-functional collaboration within manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Electrical, Controls or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical controls engineering or related field.
• Advanced system design and leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource for HVAC control systems, PLC programming, and DDC controls.
• Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for controls engineering technologies, platforms, and standards.
• Develop and maintain company-wide controls engineering standards, design practices, documentation requirements, and reusable technical assets.
• Review controls architectures, sequences of operation, control strategies, and electrical designs for complex applications.
• Lead root-cause analysis efforts and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, NFPA, ASHRAE, and other standards across systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
