Job summary

CSX Corporation seeks a Sr Controls Engineer to design and execute electro‑mechanical control projects at export terminals and maintenance shops, spanning power distribution, conveyors, rail unloading, and automated lines.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, perform root‑cause analysis, maintain documentation, and ensure CSX safety standards while advancing reliability and performance of complex systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or 4-year degree in engineering or related technical field with 3+ years managing machine or system projects.
• Experience with machine/system control philosophy and power distribution, especially medium voltage.
• Familiarity with vendor management and safety/compliance standards (NFPA/NEC/OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Design and execute projects to improve reliability of equipment at export terminals and maintenance shops.
• Perform root cause analysis to reduce mean time to repair and mean time between failures.
• Develop and maintain tools for troubleshooting, labeling, SOPs, and training.
• Maintain backups of software and parameters (PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA, networks).
• Assess power distribution systems and oversee improvements.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans for projects.
• Lead teams, ensure quality oversight, and manage expenses and invoices.
• Uphold safety and CSX standards during project execution.
