Job summary

MSI Express in Missouri seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design, implementation, and optimization of sophisticated automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion control. You will guide strategic technology choices and mentor junior engineers.

You will oversee complex projects from concept through commissioning, champion best practices, maintain documentation, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in advanced controls engineering roles in manufacturing or with integrators, with leadership experience.
• Expert knowledge of advanced control systems and state-of-the-art industrial automation technologies.
• Excellent programming skills for PLCs, HMIs, and robotics systems; strong project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and integration of advanced control systems for industrial automation.
• Oversee troubleshooting to resolve complex issues and improve reliability and performance.
• Guide programming of PLCs, HMIs, robots, and other control devices; collaborate with engineering teams.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration for continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive control system documentation and standards.
