Job summary

MSI Express, INC is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer in Saint Charles, IL for a full-time, in-person role. The position offers a competitive salary of $100,000.00–$140,000.00 per year and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401K matching, and bonus eligibility.

The role leads design, implementation, and optimization of industrial automation, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and SCADA. You will mentor engineers, manage complex projects, and drive technology innovations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in advanced controls engineering roles in manufacturing environments.
• Expert knowledge of advanced control system design principles and industrial automation technologies.
• Excellent programming skills for PLCs, HMIs, and robotics systems.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects with a track record of innovation.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.
• Experience with Allen Bradley control systems and process controls/SCADA.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and integration of advanced control systems for industrial automation.
• Oversee troubleshooting and optimization of control systems to improve reliability and performance.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, robots, and other control devices; collaborate on software projects.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to support continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive control system documentation and compliance standards.
• Mentor junior controls engineers and technical staff; deliver advanced training.
