Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Controls Engineer to design and implement advanced automation for water/wastewater, data centers, and manufacturing sectors. You will work in a dynamic system integration environment within an employee-owned organization that prizes innovation and technical excellence.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, developing PLC-based controls, FAT/SAT testing, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring quality and regulatory

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Electrical/Control Systems or related field.
• 3–8 years of automation and control-system engineering experience.
• Experience with Rockwell hardware/software is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and implement PLC-based control systems per customer specs and WM standards.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and develop automation solutions.
• Engineer system architecture, hardware specs, and control strategies.
• Perform FAT/SAT and commissioning support.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
