Job summary

KPI Solutions is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer III to design, program, implement, and commission advanced automation systems across varied customer environments. This role is remote when not traveling domestically, with about 50% nationwide travel expected to support projects.

You will lead PLC/HMI development (Allen-Bradley and Siemens), create electrical schematics, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with project managers, software teams, and customers to meet schedule and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
7+ years in controls engineering for automation, material handling, or warehouse systems.
Advanced ladder logic development and PLC/HMI programming for Allen-Bradley/Siemens.
Experience leading system design, commissioning, and project implementation.
Strong knowledge of electrical standards and controls architecture.

Responsibilities

Develop PLC and HMI programs for automated material handling and warehouse systems.
Configure, test, and commission hardware and software for new controls systems.
Lead controls project execution from design through FAT, SAT, installation, and startup.
Resolve controls issues during installation and startup.
Create and maintain electrical schematics, I/O lists, and technical documentation.
Partner with project managers, mechanical engineers, software teams, and customers to deliver projects.
Provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced engineers.
Ensure solutions meet customer requirements, applicable standards, and project schedules.
