Job summary

Sterling Industrial LLC in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Control Systems Senior Engineer to oversee instrumentation and controls for a major hydropower facility. You will coordinate design development, interface management, constructability, and commissioning support for underground powerhouse and surface facilities as part of an EPC heavy civil project.

The role requires extensive experience in control systems for hydropower or large infrastructure, knowledge of ISA/IEEE/ASME standards, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Professional/Chartered Engineer preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCAD; experience with MS Word, Excel, and Visio for design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Review conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design for BOP systems.
• Coordinate control system designs with Civil / Geotechnical, Mechanical, Electrical, Plant Design and Constructability.
• Interface with OEMs for control system integration into powerhouse systems.
• Provide Construction & Commissioning Support during execution including RFIs and field change evaluations.
• Support construction sequencing and temporary power planning for underground works.
• Participate in testing, energization, and commissioning; review test procedures and turnover sequencing.
• Support operations readiness and commissioning teams.
• Review and approve control system deliverables per requirements and standards.
• Lead design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID, safety in design workshops.
