Wunderlich-Malec is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for our St. Louis, MO office. You will lead controls projects from concept to commissioning across Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Strong leadership and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to commissioning, collaborating with clients and internal teams.
• Design and implement control systems using PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS platforms.
• Develop control system architecture, select components, and create detailed schematics.
• Program controllers (Ladder, SFC, Structured Text) and visualization systems (HMI/SCADA).
• Build databases for historical data archiving and display.
• Utilize VBA, .NET, SQL, and Python for advanced HMI/SCADA development.
• Design and implement industrial networks and IT/OT integration.
• Mentor junior staff and lead engineering teams; manage project budgets and schedules.
• Oversee project execution up to $1M and act as technical lead or PM.
