Job summary

Avanceon is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to deliver advanced automation solutions for a premier food & beverage client. You will design PLC/SCADA/HMI architectures, champion Industry 4.0 and IIoT initiatives, and guide project teams across multiple sites.

In this role, you will collaborate with IT, plant floor, and corporate engineering to ensure seamless delivery while traveling 10–25% to client locations for FATs, commissioning, and startup activities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in industrial automation, with food & beverage experience.
• Deep knowledge of food processing systems (batching, sanitation, temperature control).
• Hands-on PLCs (Allen-Bradley) and SCADA (FactoryTalk, Aveva, Ignition).
• HMI development and control panel design.
• Strong communication bridging IT, plant floor and engineering.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (10-25%).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of control system solutions.
• Serve as technical authority on food process automation.
• Architect PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Aveva).
• Drive Industry 4.0 and IIoT technologies.
• Engage with plant and corporate stakeholders across locations.
• Lead FATs, site commissioning, and startup nationwide.
• Mentor and support other engineers on the project team.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager to ensure delivery.
