Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for Vehicle Body and Access Systems at the Phoenix hub. You will own end-to-end control software for body electronics across vehicle programs, collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality features from development to production.

You will apply model-based design with Matlab/Simulink and Kalman filtering, and work with RF/BLE/UWB technologies, CAN tools, and embedded ECUs in a cross-functional setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is required.
• 4+ years of experience with automotive control systems and advanced control algorithms; RF/BLE/UWB is a plus.
• Expert knowledge of model-based design using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow.
• Strong understanding of automatic control systems and Kalman filtering, PID tuning.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and integration into embedded ECUs.
• Experience with JAMA/JIRA/Git/Confluence development tools.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop control systems for vehicle access control features (lock/unlock, authentication, localization).
• Create requirements and test cases for access control features in Matlab/Simulink.
• Collaborate with simulation engineers to improve models for access control and localization.
• Assist integration of features into the controller codebase and vehicle testing.
• Support FMEA for ISO 26262 and develop diagnostic interfaces across ECUs.
• Contribute to the design of world-class EV engineering initiatives.
