Job summary

HoSt Bio-Energy Systems is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design, programming, and delivery of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for biogas and RNG projects. This role blends deep technical work with project ownership and client interaction across multiple sites.

You’ll mentor engineers, define functional designs, and ensure on-time startup and commissioning while advancing controls standards. Domestic and international travel up to 30% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in controls, automation, or systems integration with full project lifecycle.
• Strong PLC/HMI programming, SCADA design, and industrial networking knowledge.
• Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
• Excellent communication and client-facing collaboration.
• Passport & valid driver’s license; background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, programming, and testing of PLC, HMI, and SCADA for biogas/RNG projects.
• Develop functional descriptions, control narratives, and interlock lists with process engineering.
• Own controls scope from concept through commissioning.
• Guide commissioning and engage with customers and vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers and advance standards.
