Job summary

HoSt Bio-Energy Systems seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design, programming, and startup of automation for biogas and RNG projects. You will own the controls scope, mentor engineers, and serve as the primary technical contact for clients and vendors.

Role includes traveling up to 30% to project sites worldwide, coordinating with teams, and delivering robust, safe control solutions meeting milestones and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline or related project experience.
• 7+ years in controls, automation, or systems integration with ownership from concept through commissioning.
• Deep PLC/HMI programming (Siemens preferred), SCADA design and networking.
• Strong problem-solving and communication with customers.
• Passport and ability to travel internationally.
• Valid driver’s license and background check as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, programming, and testing of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for biogas/RNG projects.
• Develop functional descriptions and control narratives with process engineering.
• Own controls scope from concept through commissioning.
• Guide commissioning and engage customers and vendors on automation matters.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to standard controls practices.
