Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design, develop, and optimize automated manufacturing systems in a fast-paced automotive environment. You will lead PLC/HMI programming, read electrical schematics, and troubleshoot complex control issues on the production floor.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety, quality, and throughput improvements while supporting equipment integration, commissioning, and new line launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/controls/automation engineering or related field.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation controls.
• Experience with HMI development and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, troubleshoot, and improve industrial control systems and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Develop and modify PLC programs, HMI applications, and machine controls.
• Support launch, commissioning, debugging, and optimization of new production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, instrumentation, and automation issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, quality, and process engineering teams.
• Develop and implement controls improvements to increase safety, quality, throughput, and reliability.
• Support equipment integration, robotics, vision systems, motion control, and other automation technologies.
• Participate in new equipment design, build, installation, and production launch activities.
• Assist with root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, controls documentation, programming standards, and technical documentation.
• Work with suppliers and integrators on controls development, debugging, and acceptance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across automated manufacturing processes.
• Provide hands-on technical support when production challenges arise.
