Job summary

International Automotive Components is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing control systems for automotive production. You will lead capital equipment projects from concept to launch, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.

You will develop PLC/HMI programs, integrate robotics, and drive continuous improvement across process controls and automation strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field with strong controls focus.
7-10 years of controls engineering experience in manufacturing.
Experience with automotive assembly and automation preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead design, programming, commissioning, and validation of automated equipment and control systems.
Develop PLC, HMI, servo, vision, and robotics control programs.
Support new program launches meeting timing, quality, and production targets.
Establish process parameters, equipment controls, and monitoring systems.
Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation issues.
Collaborate across functions to improve equipment performance and process capability.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for downtime and quality issues.
Create and maintain controls documentation (schematics, network, backups, control plans).
Participate in PFMEA and manufacturing feasibility reviews.
Support capital equipment sourcing, installation, validation, and startup.
Train maintenance and production staff on operation and preventive maintenance.
Drive CI initiatives: OEE, scrap reduction, cycle-time, cost savings, expansion.
