Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking a Sr Controls Engineer to lead design, installation and commissioning of control systems for our manufacturing environments. You will manage capital projects, support startup, optimization and troubleshooting, and ensure cybersecurity standards are met across our facilities.

Reporting to the Manager of Controls & Security Tech Solutions, you will partner with engineering, operations and vendors, and mentor maintenance teams while traveling ~30%+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• PLC/PAC programming (Rockwell, Siemens).
• HMI/SCADA (FactoryTalk, Ignition).
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to travel (~30%+)

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, selection, installation, and commissioning of control systems and automated equipment.
• Develop and assess control systems for manufacturing environments.
• Manage small capital projects including scope, cost, and schedule.
• Ensure compliance with industrial control network and cybersecurity standards.
• Support startup, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Partner cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and vendors.
• Train manufacturing and maintenance teams
