A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design and deploy advanced automation systems for high-precision industrial equipment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will lead the development of electrical control systems and automation strategies that support complex manufacturing operations across global sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation systems integrating motion control actuators, motors, servo presses, sensors, gauges, and SCADA systems.
- Lead the development of electrical controls for custom machinery and test systems, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams to deliver scalable automation solutions.
- Mentor and support junior engineers while contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Drive automation projects from concept through to implementation across multiple manufacturing environments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in industrial controls automation, preferably within custom machinery or manufacturing system design.
- Expertise in PLC programming (Logix 5000, RS Linx) and experience with robotics and vision systems.
- Proficiency with design tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD; experience with PowerBI is a plus.
- Strong background in project management, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, and mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) principles.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
