Job description

Salary – $95,000 - $115,000 per annum + bonus

We’re working with a growing automation and custom machinery business looking to add a Controls Engineer to their engineering team.

This is a hands-on role focused on designing, programming, integrating, and supporting control systems for custom industrial equipment. You’ll be involved throughout the full machine lifecycle — from initial design through build, startup, and customer acceptance.

It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working across teams, and seeing projects come to life on the shop floor and in the field.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop PLC and HMI programs using platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens
  • Support electrical controls design including schematics, panel layouts, and documentation
  • Debug, test, and support machinery during build, runoff, and startup phases
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Manufacturing teams, Electricians, and Customers throughout project delivery
  • Troubleshoot controls-related issues both internally and in the field
  • Assist with controls BOM creation and component selection
  • Contribute ideas around new technologies, process improvements, and controls best practices
What They’re Looking For:

Successful people in this role tend to be technically strong, practical problem-solvers who take ownership of projects and work well with others.

You’ll likely have:
  • Experience with PLC/HMI programming and industrial automation systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical CAD software
  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent hands- on experience
Preferred Experience
  • Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens controls experience
  • Capital equipment or custom machinery backgroundStartup, commissioning, or field service experience
Why This Role?

This position offers the opportunity to work on custom equipment projects from concept through completion, with plenty of exposure to machine integration, real-world problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
