Job Purpose

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC, HMI, safety, servo, and vision-based hardware and software including, but not limited to: RSLogix 500/5000, Siemens, AVIX View, FT View Studio, SICK, etc.
• Machine vision experience and knowledge (Keyence, Cognex, Datalogic, etc.)
• Determine correct size of electrical components for PLC or PC-based systems.
• Have a working knowledge of Human Machine Interface (HMI) devices.
• Design and engineer programmable logic controls (PLC’s) and modifications for manufacturing equipment.
• Direct electrical assembly activities such as panel fabrication and wiring.
• Evaluate and approve new equipment electrical and PLC programs for accuracy, function, completeness, and documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting machine malfunctions, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring circuits.
• Develop and maintain electrical designs, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD.
• Troubleshoot hard-wired relay logic machine control panels, including field repairs.
• Work with multiple phase electrical systems, including distribution systems with bus and switchgear.
• Integrate third-party equipment and peripherals into systems.
• Minimal travel may be required.
• Collaborate with Process and Maintenance Engineers to ensure robust processes and logic.
• Work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

• Experience in Ethernet networking is preferred.
• Experience with Fanuc robotics troubleshooting/programming is preferred.
• Experience with Allen Bradley troubleshooting/programming is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Engineering Technology with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience or a minimum of 5 years of Controls experience in a manufacturing facility.
