The Senior Controls / Automation Engineer role requires a versatile engineering skill set, with the ability to work independently across all aspects of process automation engineering and system integration—from concepts and specifications to design, documentation, implementation, testing, startup, and training of personnel. You will be a key member of a diverse team tackling complex automation challenges for our clients.

Location: Regional Southern CT / Tarrytown area, with site visits as needed.

You will:

• Lead or collaborate on projects designing, configuring, and testing control applications for continuous and batch processes.
• Understand project scope and financials, managing time effectively to develop schedules and budgets, and coordinate with project leadership to ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
• Provide solutions and technical expertise, prioritizing customer satisfaction and offering advisement during projects.
• Adapt to flexible schedules and travel to client sites for design, development, and start-up activities.
• Serve as an automation Subject Matter Expert.
• Promote the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and career growth of team members.

You have:

• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in automation projects within process plants, preferably in Life Sciences.
• A BS in Engineering or equivalent educational background.
• Strong technical aptitude, detail orientation, and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Knowledge of standards like ISA S88, ISA S95, GAMP 5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
• Experience developing control systems using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related technologies, including database and historian configurations.
• Understanding of object-oriented software development and control system network topologies.
• Experience with instrumentation, control panel design, troubleshooting, and system commissioning.
• Experience supporting equipment installation and commissioning at customer sites.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

Application knowledge in:

• PLC programming (Rockwell Studio5000, RSLogix5000)
• HMI programming (Wonderware, Rockwell FTView, Ignition)
• Configuration of control system components and databases (Wonderware, OSI PI, SQL)
• Control of drives, switches, and other control systems (Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, etc.)

Preferred experience in:

• Bio Reactors, Skid Controls, Clean/Steam in Place, Freeze Dryers, Autoclaves, Centrifuges, Building Management, Thermal Oxidizers, Water Systems, Transfer Systems, Granulators, Boilers, Material Handling, Laboratory Systems, Pasteurization, Wastewater, Weighing, Blending, and more.
