Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer in Ames, IA to develop, install, and commission control systems for optimizing manufacturing processes. You will program and integrate PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA for automated equipment across facilities.

The role requires hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMI development, and AVEVA/ArchestrA, plus .NET and SQL proficiency. Expect travel up to 25% and a strong impact on production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in PLC programming, HMI, SCADA, and electrical controls.
• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMI development, AVEVA/ArchestrA (Wonderware).
• Experience with .NET programming, SQL Databases, and Ethernet/IP Communication.
• Open to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide Controls and Automation Systems technical support to other company locations.
